We started out on Comic Genesis, then moved to my art website. But after talking with a few people, and looking at the site’s statistics, I’ve decided it was time to start Maq #041 on it’s own space. Thus is born Maq041.com!
In another first, I’m not building the website from scratch with the notepad. Instead, my good buddy Brandy from Rabbit Dance Design has introduced me to WordPress. After a somewhat shaky start, things are going a bit more smoothly. Next step is to start playing with the themes. While on one hand, I feel like this is a blow to my pride (since I could always make the page exactly how I wanted), I understand that technology moves too fast for me to keep up anymore. So here we are.
But now I have a slight problem that requires input. I’ll have to move all the files over, and I’m wondering which copies to put in the archive. Long-time readers know that originally, the first chapter was colored, but it was riddled with mistakes. Then I made it black and white, and tried to fix all the mistakes (though I missed a few). Now I’m going back, really cleaning up and going as far as re-drawing certain panels that I think need it. I’ve even re-scanned some of the pages so the line-art is cleaner. It’s a major overhaul, but the end result is that the first chapter looks MUCH better. I haven’t finished that particular project, but I’m far into it.
So, if you have any opinions on this, please let me know. I suppose if I really wanted, I could just upload two copies of Chapter 1, but that seems a bit much.
Anyways, I hope you all like what’s here so far (ie: nothing). Hopefully soon it’ll be something great.
